I think I may have figured out one key reason why I don't approve of my drawings. I don't scale. It's a small factor but it's a big enough hump that I don't enjoy practicing and trying to get the perfect picture. I always try to do a 1:1 ratio of what I'm viewing. so if it's from a photograph and the eyes are very small, that's how I try to draw them. Never mind that the pencil tip is too small to even do that level of detail. I think I will improve drastically now that I've figured this tid bit out. OF course it will take some getting used to, being outside of my comfort zone and all but that's just a sign of improvement!! yippeeeee!!
